Since October 2023, an eco-corner built as part of the Life Mercury FREE project has been operating at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science and Automation of the Lodz University of Technology. Here, students can learn about new information about the environmental protection project activities.
Photo: Dorota Ziąbka The eco corner is a small zone separated by a wall made of honey-shaped elements and another in the shape of a green leaf. Two touchscreen computers are placed in this space. You can browse selected websites dedicated to removing items containing mercury from your household. The only and correct way is to take it to Selective Municipal Waste Collection Points (PSZOK). I think that such an initiative should be extended to other faculties of our university, building pro-ecological knowledge among students of the Lodz University of Technology.
